Boo.com was one of the most publicised casualties of the dot com crash. It was held up as a prime example of the many web sites with unrealistic business models. Among other problems sited with Boo.com, people pointed out that using an online clothes store you can't touch the clothes, and you can't try them on for size and fit. It was questioned whether people will ever take to buying clothes online.

In 2007, it has become clear that many consumers are more than happy yo buy clothes online. ClothesFinder.co.uk has just indexed over 500 online clothes retailers in the UK.

Mintel reports that since 2001, online clothes sales have grown by 44% to £1.4 Billion last year.

IMRG also said that online now accounts for 10% of total retail sales in the UK, compared to just 0.5% in 2000.
